How FifthSet works
FifthSet is a prediction game for one Grand Slam at a time. You pick the winner of every match, call the podium once per draw, and collect points as results come in.
The game
Playing a Slam in four steps.
Start a group
Name the group, pick the Slam, share the invite link.
Call the podium
Pick your champion, the other finalist and one semifinalist. Open until round 1 ends.
Pick every match
Tap a winner for each match, any time before its scheduled start.
Follow the leaderboard
Points are added as results come in. The leaderboard updates live.
Scoring
What a pick is worth round by round.
- 01
A correct pick is worth the round number: round 1 pays 1 point, the final pays 7.
- 02
Picked the underdog against the seeding and got it right? It counts double. That means the worse seed, or an unseeded player facing a seeded one.
- 03
Before round 1 ends, call the podium: the champion pays 10, the other finalist 5, and a semifinalist who gets there 3.
The 2× marker sits on the underdog's side of every match card, so you can see the doubled stakes before you pick.
Podium
One podium call per draw. Worth up to 18 points.
You call the podium once for each draw you play, so a men's-and-women's group makes two calls. Each stays editable through that draw's round 1 and locks when its last first-round match finishes. It pays out when the final is decided.
Champion
Your pick wins the title. Only the exact pick scores.
Finalist
Your pick reaches the final, from either half of the draw.
Semifinalist
Your pick reaches the semifinals. Any of the four slots counts.
Fine print
Edge cases and how they score.
- When picks lock
- A match locks at its scheduled start time, or the moment it goes live if that comes first. Until then you can change your pick as often as you want.
- Seeing everyone's picks
- The group's picks for a match stay hidden until it is underway. Podium picks are revealed when the podium locks at the end of round 1.
- Walkovers
- A match that never starts is void. Nobody scores, and it does not count as a wrong pick.
- Retirements
- A match that starts counts. If a player retires, the official winner scores as usual.
- Postponed matches
- A postponed or cancelled match closes to picks and stays pending. Your existing pick scores normally if the match is played later, and is void if it never is. A reschedule announced before the original start time moves the deadline with it; once the deadline has passed, picks stay closed.
- Tiebreakers
- Equal on points? You share the rank — inside it, most correct picks is listed first, then most correct underdog picks. Level at the top when the Slam ends means a shared win.
- Joining late
- You can join any time while the Slam is running. You play from the next open round with no penalty for the rounds you missed, but the podium call is closed once round 1 ends. When the tournament is completed, the group closes to new members.
That's the whole rulebook. Nothing else to learn.
